VENTURE PHILANTHROPY
Jacqueline Novogratz,
CEO of Acumen
Developing women's work is about more than economics and traditional aid. Acumen's novel venture philanthropy approach guides entrepreneurs and potential business people toward starting their own businesses, giving indigenous communities tools for sustainable economic improvement.

In recent years we've explored topics ranging from Dr. Anne-Marie Slaughter's article "Why Women Still Can't Have it All"; to Dr. Gail Dines' exploration of the link between pornography and violence against women; to the human-trafficking of women happening right here in Los Angeles.
Our aim is always to tackle the many complex issues impacting women and girls around the world and to shine a light on the powerful women doing remarkable work in these arenas. They impress and inspire us, as do you: the curious, smart, accomplished, fearless women who join our conversations.
